Alexia Prodanis and Lily Szulc show their work that was recognized as part of the Congressional Art Competition

MANCHESTER – Earlier this month, U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas presented the Congressional Art Award to Central High juniors Alexia Prodanis and Lily Szulc in a ceremony at the Currier Museum.

Alexia's piece, "Self Scrutiny" was honored. She describes it as a "Triptych self portrait that examines the self critical nature we have for ourselves." Alexia won first and will go to Washington, DC, in June and have her work displayed for a year at the Capitol.

Lily's piece "Teen Spirit" was given an honorable mention. Lily said her piece "pictures me and my good friends, embodying how it feels to be a teen."

We hope you'll join us in congratulating Alexia and Lily on this outstanding honor.
