Senior Brendon Lewis was recently honored by the VFW for placing first in District 6 for his Voice of Democracy essay. Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars' (VFW) premier scholarship program since 1947. Nearly 40,000 high school students compete in the competition annually. The Voice of Democracy program requires students to write and record an audio essay on a patriotic theme determined each year. This year's essay theme was "American History: Our Hope for the Future". Brendon competed against other students from across the area and was awarded First Place in the district for his outstanding essay.

Congratulations, Brendon!
