Mock Trial Team Wins State Championship

The Central High School Mock Trial Team #1 won the NH State Mock Trial Championship on Friday, February 24, 2017.  The state victory came to the Little Green as they defeated Pinkerton Academy in the finals. 14 teams from around the state competed for the top position.
Central sent two teams to the competition and Central's Mock Trial Team #2 was eliminated in the preliminary round.

Four teams, Phillips Exeter Academy, Pinkerton Academy, Soughegan High, and Central High School Team #1, all worked their way into the semi-final round. Central's Team #1 competed in the Championship round in the Nashua Court House against Pinkerton Academy. Central's victory has secured their spot in the National Championship which will be held later this spring.

The teams are coached by local attorneys who volunteer their time to work with the students. The team is coached by Ashley Scott from McLane Middleton, Manchester and Jamie S. Myers from Bianco PA in Concord. Mrs. Margaret Burke, a Central teacher is the advisor for the team.

Students on the championship team include: Kristina Zimmerman, Gabi Roy, Maggie Delaney, Gabby Tayag, Julie Cotton, Lilly Hayward, Faith Hazelton, Angela Romilla.

The Mock Trial Team began at Central in the fall of 2014 and has grown to 18 active "future lawyers".
