DigiGirlz and International Women’s Day

 

Join us this March for a series of empowering events celebrating International Women’s Day. Join us for DigiGirlz coding workshops and for conversations with female pilots, engineers, and programmers about how computer science shaped their careers. 

 

DigiGirlz 2 Hour Workshop: Women in Coding (ages 11-18)

Saturday, March 10th 8AM-10AM

REGISTER HERE

 

This free, 2-hour DigiGirlz workshop is an engaging interactive way for young women ages 11-18 to understand more about how the opportunities computer science and coding open up for them. They will meet a local woman who works in computer science; and find out that a successful career in technology is within their reach. They will also get a hands-on introduction to coding, creating their own project. 

 

With special guest speaker, Sima Mehri.

 

DigiGirlz 90 Minute Workshop: Women in Space (ages 11-18)

Saturday, March 17th 8AM-9:30AM

This free, 90-minute DigiGirlz workshop is an engaging interactive way for young women ages 11-18 to understand more about how the opportunities computer science and coding open up for them. They will learn about women who work in space; and find out that a successful career in Space Aeronautics and technology is within their reach. They will also get a hands on introduction to coding, creating their own project.

The parent, legal guardian, or authorized adult caregiver of every camp participant under 17 years of age must sign a Participation Agreement upon arrival and remain in Microsoft Store for the duration of the event.

School Day SAT Information

Juniors will be taking the SAT on Wednesday 3/21/18.  Testing will begin promptly at 7:45 that day.  Students should report to their assigned room, which will be posted in multiple locations in school.  Cell phones are not allowed in testing rooms, please leave them at home.  If anyone is caught using a phone during the test or break, they will be dismissed and their scores will be canceled.  For more information about test day, see the links below for the student guide.

Directions to Add the SAT Essay

Below are instructions to add the essay to the SAT for 3/21/18 administration for juniors.  The essay is optional, and will cost a fee of $14.00.  All juniors are currently registered to take the test at no cost.


Keene State College offers "The Granite Guarantee"

This coming fall, Keene State College will be offering The Granite Guarantee at Keene State. The scholarship is similar to what UNH made available to first-year NH students in 2017. To be eligible, students must meet the following criteria:
  • New Hampshire resident
  • Entering their first year of college in Fall 2018
  • Eligible for the federal Pell Grant
