All sophomores and many juniors at all four high schools in Manchester participated in the PSAT today starting at 7:45 AM. Anticipated to last about three hours, the assessment did run longer than expected and all students were delayed in beginning classes at the originally scheduled time of 11:00. To accommodate the time shift, students attended mods C for attendance - H and will be dismissed on time at 2:42.

The PSAT is an assessment of college and career ready skills and is designed to provide practice and feedback to students prior to taking the SAT or ACT, two college entrance exams used to weigh applications to universities around the nation. Juniors taking the PSAT may qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) program in which 8,000 juniors are selected from the nationwide pool to receive college scholarships.

All four high schools will be using today’s schedule as a means of improving the efficiency and timely administration of the assessment for next year. We thank you for your patience with this important endeavor.
